<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a cellulose ester film having excellent optical characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing the cellulose ester film includes: a process D0 of transporting a cellulose ester film which has been casted onto a support then peeled; a process A of holding transverse-direction end part of the film which is transported from the transporting process D0; a process B of stretching the resulting film in the transverse direction; and a process D1 of drying the stretched film, wherein the cellulose ester film produced by the above processs, has an orientation angle ±2° from average orientation angel even in any point of the measurement of the orientation angle in the transverse direction and ≤5% retardation (Ro) distribution in the film plane. In the method, the end part of the film transported from the process D0 is cut with a slitter and after that, the film is held in the process A, the temperature raise speed in the process B is controlled in the range of 0.5-10°C/s and a neutral zone is provided between the section of the process A and the section of the process B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
