<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrating piece that relaxes stress on a vibrating portion when mounted, and to provide a piezoelectric vibrator using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibrating piece 10 is formed of an AT-cut quartz crystal, and includes: a thin portion 21 that has a vibrating portion 22; and a thick portion 17 that is located on each edge of the piezoelectric vibrating piece 10 and is thicker than the thin portion 21. Given that an angle formed by rotating a +Z'-axis in a direction of a +X-axis about a Y'-axis is a positive rotation angle, the piezoelectric vibrating piece 10 has edges that are respectively parallel to a Z''-axis obtained by rotating the Z'-axis in a range of -120° to +60° about the Y'-axis and to an X'-axis obtained by rotating the X-axis along with the Z'-axis about the Y'-axis. To the thick portion 17, a mount portion 12 is connected side by side through a cushioning portion 14 in a direction of one of the edges. The cushioning portion 14 has a slit 16 between the mount portion 12 and the thick portion 17. The mount portion 12 has a cut-out portion 18 on each side in a perpendicular direction to a direction in which the cushioning portion 14 and the thick portion 17 are aligned. A longitudinal direction of the slit 16 is parallel to the perpendicular direction. Width of the mount portion 12 in the perpendicular direction is smaller than width of the slit 16 in the longitudinal direction. Both ends of the slit 16 in the longitudinal direction are positioned closer to outer edges of the cushioning portion 14 in the perpendicular direction than both ends of the mount portion 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
