<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting, which has a structure to prevent the breakage of straightening plates and a nozzle body of the immersion nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: When the expansion coefficient of the nozzle body is M<SB POS="POST">1α</SB>[×10<SP POS="POST">-6</SP>/°C], the elasticity of the nozzle body is M<SB POS="POST">1E</SB>[MPa], the thickness of the tube wall of the nozzle body is T<SB POS="POST">nzl</SB>[mm], the elasticity of the straightening plates is M<SB POS="POST">2E</SB>[MPa], the bending strength of the nozzle body is σ<SB POS="POST">b</SB>[MPa], and the maximum value of the index of a stress strength ratio not to cause the breakage of the nozzle body is S<SB POS="POST">est</SB>/σ<SB POS="POST">b</SB>, the length distance L<SB POS="POST">span</SB>[mm]in the nozzle axis direction between the fixed parts of each of partial plates is in the range specified by the following formula (1a): 0<L<SB POS="POST">span</SB>≤ä-b-(b<SP POS="POST">2</SP>-4ac)<SP POS="POST">1/2</SP>}/2a, wherein a=c<SB POS="POST">18</SB>/σ<SB POS="POST">b</SB>, and c<SB POS="POST">18</SB>=-4.83886×10<SP POS="POST">-5</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
