[Problem] To provide an epoxy resin composition which has low viscosity and which exhibits not only high heat curability but also high cationic curability. [Solution] An epoxy compound represented by formula (1), and a curable composition which comprises the epoxy compound and an acid generator or a curing agent. In formula (1), A is an (n4)-valent C2-10 unsaturated hydrocarbon group, an (n4)-valent C4-20 cyclic hydrocarbon group, an (n4)-valent nitrogen-containing ring group, an (n4)-valent linear c3-10 hydrocarbon group, or an (n4)-valent group consisting of a combination of two or more of such groups, R1 and R2 are each independently a hydrogen atom or C1-10 alkyl, R3 is an (n3+1)-valent hydrocarbon group, n1 is an integer of 2, n2 is an integer of 1, n3 is an integer of 2 to 5, n4 is an integer of 2 to 8, n5 is an integer of 0 or 1, and n6 is an integer of 0 or 1. The acid generator is a photoacid generator or a thermal acid generator, while the curing agent is an acid anhydride or an amine.
