<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an equivalent output even if an image that has been color-converted and gradation-treated and printed with an external machine, is outputted using an own machine having a different toner/ink total amount regulation value. <P>SOLUTION: When an operation mode determination process part 274 determines that the toner total amount of an input image which is to be processed exceeds a toner total amount regulation value of an own machine, the input image is applied with a total amount regulation by a concentration conversion process part 273, for outputting. On the other hand, if it is determined to be within the toner total amount regulation value, further determination is made by a threshold value process to estimate whether or not the input image has a history of receiving toner total amount regulation. An image that has not received total amount regulation is outputted as it is, but for an image which is determined to have received total amount regulation, an increase corresponding to KMAX value (estimated total amount regulation value of input image) is applied within the range of toner total amount regulation value for the own machine. Thanks to the increase, the degradation in picture quality that occurs in a conventional method can be suppressed even if the image that has a history having received toner total amount regulation from an external machine is used for printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
