PURPOSE: A laundry machine with a steam generator and a control method thereof are provided to increase efficiency of the stream generator. CONSTITUTION: Power is applied to a heater to generate steam. Time necessary for detecting a heater power blocking signal of a steam generator is counted(S110). The heater power blocking signal is generated when the temperature of a steam generator housing is higher than a boiling point of water. The counted time is compared with preset time.
