PURPOSE: A haptic device and a control method thereof having a grip function are provided to simplify a structure of a haptic device and to miniaturize a haptic device. CONSTITUTION: A grip unit(100) applies external shock to an object. A marker(101) is included in one side of a grip unit. A multiple moving operator(300) approaches the object. A rotation joint unit(102) couples the grip unit with the multiple moving operator and supplies rotation motion to the grip unit. An image photographing unit(200) photographs the grip unit, the marker, and the rotation joint unit. A processor(400) calculates phase information about the grip unit from image information.
