<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which is used in such a reaction that tar obtained by pyrolyzing a carbonaceous raw material is reformed and converted into a gas based on hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane, and which exhibits high activity at comparatively low reaction temperature, is made inexpensive, does not need to be subjected to reduction treatment and exhibits high activity over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The tar gasification catalyst for reforming/gasifying the tar obtained by pyrolyzing the carbonaceous raw material is manufactured by depositing oxides of one or more iron-group metals of nickel, cobalt and iron, oxides of one or more of cerium, zirconium, titanium and magnesium and a platinum-group metal compound on at least one carrier of silica and alumina. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
