VARIABLE FRICTIONAL DAMPER

PURPOSE: A variable friction damper is provided to reduce vibration and the transferring of the vibration in all vibration frequency range by using the property of a piston rod having a variable damping coefficient changed following the change of the friction resistance of the piston rod. CONSTITUTION: A variable friction damper comprises a cylinder(10), a piston(20), a support plate(40), a coil spring(30). The piston head(21) is inserted in the cylinder having predetermined height. The mid-portion of the inner wall of the cylinder is formed in groove shape. The piston is composed of a piston head and a piston rod. The piston head is adhered to the inner wall of the cylinder. The support plate fixes the lower portion of the piston rod. The coil spring elastically supports the cylinder and the support plate.
