摘要 A method and a system are disclosed for manufacturing prostheses. Geometrical and colour data are acquired from a patient with an image processing apparatus 102 such as a digital camera. The acquired data is processed into a sequence of commands 103 for a manufacturing apparatus 104. The manufacturing apparatus 104 produces a prosthesis structure according to the sequence of commands, and a substantially resilient material is infiltrated in the prosthesis structure. Preferably more than one digital camera 102 is used to produce a three dimensional image of the patient. The acquired colour data may be used to match the prosthesis color with the patientâ s skin tone. Optionally, the manufacturing apparatus 104 comprises a rapid prototyping device such as a three dimensional printer and the prosthesis is manufactured in layers. The resilient material may be infiltrated into the prosthesis by immersing the prosthesis into the material and then subjecting it to a pre-determined pressure in a pressure chamber 106.
