The present invention relates to a long-term dressing-protection for wounds of animals. In particular, the present invention provides for an armour-like wound protector which improves transcutaneous silver uptake studies and may advantageously be used in cases where the skin of the animal is injured and the dressing contains substances like for example antibiotics, antiinfectives like e.g. iodine or the like. The armour device has a frame element which is configured to surround the wound of the animal in the attached position. At least partially, the frame element spatially surrounds the wound. The armour device provides for attachment means such that an attachment of the frame element to the torso of an animal is facilitated. By means of providing a base frame and a corresponding top, easy and pragmatic access to the wound is facilitated. Providing the presented armour device in a half-cylindrical shape improves the adaptability to the torso of an animal. A used opening mechanism allows changing the armour device from a first, closed configuration into a second, open configuration. |
