PURPOSE: A method for grinding thin sheet workpiece and a double-end surface grinder are provided to improve grinding accuracy and improve harvest rate. CONSTITUTION: A method for grinding thin sheet workpiece is as follows. When the both surfaces of a thin sheet workpiece kept between a pair of constant pressure pads, the grinding accuracy is calculated based on the positions of the both sides of the thin sheet workpiece and grinding conditions are compensated along the sharpness deviation. The position of the both sides of the grinded workpiece are compared to calculate the abrasion quantity of grinding wheels and the sharpness deviation of the grinding wheel is calculated based on the abrasion quantity of grinding wheels.
