PURPOSE: A clustering method and an apparatus thereof for cooperative communication in a cellular communication system are provided to configure a cluster in order to perform cooperative communication between base stations. CONSTITUTION: A channel information collecting unit(354) collects channel state information about a plurality of base stations. A base station clustering unit(356) configures a cluster in consideration of difference between a capacity of cooperative communication and a capacity of single cell communication. The base station clustering unit determines whether to configure the selected candidate cluster as one cluster.
