PURPOSE: A laundry device and a control method are provided to reduce vibration and noise which occur when a drum rotates. CONSTITUTION: A tub is included in a cabinet. The tub receives washing water. A drum can rotate in the tub. An active vibration absorbing device(20) attenuates vibration due to rotation of the drum at two or more frequency bands when the drum rotates. A control unit controls the drum and the active vibration absorbing device. The control unit controls the intrinsic frequency of the active vibration absorbing device according to a frequency band.
