PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to reproduce content from a point where an operation is terminated in case a widget is selected and to easily enable a user to recognize a state of content through a widget. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(180) determines whether to generate incomplete information corresponding to content when an operation of specific content is terminated. The controlling unit generates incomplete information according to a determining result. The controlling unit stores incomplete information in a memory. The controlling unit displays the generated incomplete information on a display unit. If the incomplete information is selected, the controlling unit executes content corresponding to the incomplete information.
