PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to manufacture a liquid crystal display device to able to impart high response rate and to have excellent voltage preservation, afterimage property and light resistance, and to have excellent uniformity at coating. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises at least one polymer selected from polyamic acid, polyimide, a (meth)acrylic polymer, polysiloxane, and polyamic ester. The polymer has a group expressed in chemical formula 1: R^3-(R^2-)a-R^1. In chemical formula 1, R^1 is a methylene group, a C2-30 alkylene group, -(CbH2bO)c-, a phenylene group, or cyclohexylene, b is an integer from 0-20, c is an integer from 0-10. A part or whole of these groups can be substituted. R^2 is a linker comprising a carbon-carbon double bond, a carbon-carbon tripled bond, an ether bond, an ester group, or amide bond, R^3 is a group comprising at least two monocyclic structures, and a is an integer from 0 or 1.
