PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for measuring personality based on brain waves are provided to classify and recognize emotions according to personality when various feeling is recognized. CONSTITUTION: A brain wave measurement data collecting part(10) collects brain wave measurement data by stimulus added to a plurality of subjects. A segmentation part(12) divides the brain wave measurement data from stimulus point of time to a certain point of time. A filtering part(14) filters the brain wave measurement data divided by the segmentation part in a bandpass. A mean value calculating part(16) calculates a mean value for data of each frequency band filtered by the filtering part. A personality classifying part(18) uses a SVM(Support Vector Machine) in order to classify three kinds of personalities within a BAS(Behavioral Activation Or Approach System).
