DETERMINING METHOD FOR ECO-INDEX OF VEHICLE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for calculating an eco index of a vehicle and a displaying device are provided to reflect a traffic condition of a road where a vehicle drives, thereby accurately determining the extent that the vehicle economically drives. CONSTITUTION: An eco index displaying device of a vehicle comprises a memory unit(10), a measuring unit(20), a calculating unit(30), and a displaying unit(40). The memory unit records data of a fuel rate of a vehicle kind measured in a reference setting step. The measuring unit measures a speed and the fuel rate on a real time basis. The calculating unit calculates an average speed and the fuel rate from the measured speed and fuel rate. The calculating unit reads the data of the fuel rates per each speed corresponding to the average speed calculated by the memory unit. The calculating unit compares the calculated average speed and fuel rate, thereby performing an index calculating step. The displaying unit displays an eco index calculated by the calculating unit.
