ANTI-BACTERIAL COMPOSITIONS AGAINST FISH PATHOGENIC BACTERIA COMPRISING EXTRACTS OF TERMINALIACHEBULA RETZIUS, GALLA RHOIS AND LEMONGRASS

PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing Terminalia chebula Retzius, Galla Rhois, or Cymbopogon citratus extract is provided to prevent and treat infection in fishes and to replace antibiotics. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition contains Terminalia chebula Retzius, Galla Rhois, or Cymbopogon citratus extract as an active ingredient. The composition has an antibacterial activity against Vibrio anguillarum, Edwardsiella tarda, and Streptococcus iniae. A method for preparing the composition comprises: a step of extracting Terminalia chebula Retzius or Galla Rhois using organic solvent; a step of extracting Cymbopogon citrates by steam distillation; and a step of mixing the extract or mixture extract with veterinarily acceptable excipient and diluents.
