PURPOSE: A device for compressing and transmitting a digital signal using a spread spectrum technique is provided to transmit a digital signal through an inexpensive coaxial cable or an inexpensive twisted pair cable by the spread spectrum technique. CONSTITUTION: Spread spectrum transmitting device 1(210) transmits raw digital image data, HSYNC(Horizontal Synchronization), VSYNC(Vertical Synchronization), and a pixel clock to spread spectrum transmitting device 2. Spread spectrum transmitting device 1 receives camera control data from spread spectrum transmitting device 2. Two lines of AC(Alternating Current) coupling pass an AC(Alternative Current) signal and do not pass a DC(Direct Current) signal. A coaxial cable or a twisted pair cable transmits a digital image and a voice signal of the image sensor by a DSSS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) method. A black box main body compresses and decompresses the digital image and the voice signal and displays the digital image and the voice signal on a screen of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) unit.
