The appliance has a water tank (2) with an electric heating element for bringing water in the water tank up to temperature to generate steam. A steam basket box (4) is removably placed above the water tank. A lid (6) is placed at top of the basket box for partially confining vapor, which penetrates into the basket box. The basket box is arranged with a solid imperforated bottom, and a beater (3) is actuated by an electrical motor. The lid is provided with openings (5).
