The apparatus has spraying portions with rinsing liquid which is injected into the basin (2) under pre-designated conditions. A basket (1) for receiving the surgical instrument is accommodated in the basin. A drain portion (4) with controlled opening is attached to the basin. The spraying portion for spraying out the rinsing liquid into basket is in the form of appropriate nozzle. A sensor is provided to display the level of liquid in the basin. The drain portion, nozzles and sensor are electrically connected to the electronic control unit.
