A purge tee assembly (10) for purging a plastics pipeline (50) comprises a saddle (18), provided with a saddle-shaped saddle electrofusion element (24), a hollow body (12), integral with the saddle and provided with an axial bore (26) and an externally screw threaded end (30) distal to the saddle. The externally threaded receives a first screw cap (34). There is provided a cutter (28) disposed within the axial bore. A tubular spigot (22), which is integral with the hollow body, has a spigot bore (22a) in fluid connection with the axial bore of the body. The purge tee assembly is characterised in that the spigot is in connection with a tubular elbow (14), having a distal outlet in the form of an adaptor (16). The adaptor (16) is screw threaded to receive a second screw cap (40), as well as a vent pipe (52) and other ancillary apparatus. |
