Cosmetic, non-therapeutic use of the platycodin compound for influencing the gene expression of melanocortin receptor 1, glycoprotein 100 and/or c-kit in melanocyte of the skin and/or skin appendages and treating unwanted facial hair in female, preferably area above the upper lip, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic agent comprising 0.1-20 wt.% of shea butter and 0.00001-1 wt.% of the platycodin compound. ACTIVITY : Endocrine-Gen. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
