<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film showing excellent hydrolysis resistance of a base material film, causing little deterioration of adhesion to various members and a final coating agent, and suitably used for, for example, a film for protecting the reverse surface of a solar battery and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film is a laminated film having an application layer containing polyurethane having a polycarbonate skeleton or a polyether skeleton and a crosslinking agent, the sum of the components being not less than 50 wt.%, on at least one surface of the biaxially oriented polyester film containing 0 to 170 ppm of elemental phosphorus and not more than 26 equivalents/ton of terminal carboxylic acid.
