<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device which is excellent in sense of beauty when it is mounted on a mounting port arranged on the deepest part of a recessed section or the like arranged on a ceiling. <P>SOLUTION: An auxiliary tool 20 for a lighting device includes: a reflecting plate 40 having an insertion hole 42 where the lighting device 10 can be inserted; and a detachable ring 30 having a detachment hole 32 which can be mounted on an upper part of the lighting device 10. When the lighting device 10 is mounted on the recessed section arranged on the ceiling or the like with the auxiliary tool 20 for a lighting device in a mounted state, the reflecting plate 40 having a size large enough to cover the whole recessed section is to be biased to the ceiling surface, and becomes one with the ceiling surface.
