The measurement device discriminates the stages of sleep of a subject on the basis of signals input from a body movement sensor. In said measurement device, when the getting-into-bed button is operated at time T3, time T3 is stored as the time at which the subject got into bed. When the "good night" button is operated at time T4, discrimination of sleep stages is initiated. When the "good night" button is operated again at time T5, discrimination of sleep stages is terminated.
