<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal and a character string presentation change method for a portable terminal that allow a user to intuitively and easily change character presentation. <P>SOLUTION: When detecting pre-set contact operation on a character string displayed on a touch panel 5, a portable terminal 1 changes the presentation of the character string. When detecting repeated contact and non-contact operation on a character string displayed on the touch panel 5, for example, the portable terminal changes the character string into a blink state where the character string blinks at blink intervals based on the duration of the repeated contact and non-contact operation.
