METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING SWITCHOVER TARGET CELL FOR USER EQUIPMENT

Disclosed is a method for determining a switchover target cell for a user equipment (UE). A control network element of a source cell where the UE is located transmits a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) information request to the control network element of one or a plurality of adjacent cells; the control network element of the adjacent cell transmits MBMS information of the adjacent cell to the control network element of the source cell; and the control network element of the source cell selects a switchover target cell for the UE on the basis of the MBMS information received. Also disclosed is a system for determining the switchover target cell for the UE. Employment of the method and system ensures to the greatest extent the reception continuity of the MBMS for the UE.
