Disclosed in the present invention are a pilot and physical resource block bundling demodulation method and system, which relate to the field of Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. By configuring a transmission mode, a downlink control information format and a feedback mode, a network side of the present invention indicates whether a receiving side performs combined channel estimation and demodulation according to Precoding Resource Group (PRG). In Normal or Fallback mode, the present invention adjusts a channel estimation manner dynamically and flexibly according to the different downlink control information formats, thereby making full use of both channel estimation gain due to Precoding Resource Block (PRB) bundling and frequency diversity gain due to No-PRB bundling, and improving reliability and average throughput of the system.
