<p>Embodiments of the present invention provide a video encoding/decoding method and device. A video encoding method comprises: obtaining a first-level candidate motion derived information set of a current block; if the number of pieces of candidate motion derived information in the first-level candidate motion derived information set is greater than 2, merging the candidate motion derived information in the first-level candidate motion derived information set to obtain a second-level candidate motion derived information set, the number of pieces of candidate motion derived information comprised in the second-level candidate motion derived information set being smaller than or equal to 2; and encoding the current block according to the candidate motion derived information comprised in the second-level candidate motion derived information set. The embodiments of the present invention can solve the problem in the prior art that an error occurs in the process of decoding an encoded code stream of the current block and is caused by the incorrectly estimated number of pieces of candidate motion derived information.</p>
