摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein uniformity of light-emission intensity on a surface of a light guide plate may be reduced if a recessed section is formed on a front surface of the light guide plate so as to totally reflect light emitted from the LEDs or a recessed section for storing the LEDs is formed on a back surface of the light guide plate, in a direct backlight device for a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: A reflecting sheet 62 having openings is laminated on a front surface of an LED board 60, and LED elements 74 are stored in the openings. The light guide plate 64 having both flat surfaces is laminated on the reflecting sheet 62. A white reflecting film 90 is formed on a non-totally-reflecting range, wherein an incident angle of light from the LED elements 74 to the front surface becomes less than a critical angle, positioned in opposition to the LED elements 74 in the front surface of the light guide plate 64, and at least part of the light is returned into the light guide plate 64 by dispersing and reflecting it. A pattern made of white reflecting films 92 is formed on the back surface of the light guide plate 64, and light is dispersed and reflected to be emitted from the front surface of the light guide plate 64. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
