<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object lens and an optical pickup device capable of suppressing failures during forming in a high-NA lens. <P>SOLUTION: As an objective lens OBJ has a thick flange part FT, a thick flange part formation part 11c can be formed on a first flange part transfer surface 11b of a first mold 10 so as to connect to a gate part GT by reference to Figure 2.
