PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte for a secondary battery excellent in long term durability and load characteristics, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.

SOLUTION: There are provided a nonaqueous electrolyte and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including the nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains, in addition to an electrolyte and a nonaqueous solvent, (A) a compound having at least two or more isocyanate groups in the molecule, and (B) at least one selected from the group consisting of lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI) and compounds represented by the following general formulae (1) and (2).
