<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an error between an actual change amount in the size of a sheet in a period after an image is transferred onto a first surface of the sheet until an image is transferred onto a second surface, in the process of forming images on both surfaces of the sheet, and a change amount in the size of a sheet calculated based on a water content of the sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary transfer roller 14 forms an image on a surface of a sheet. A fixing unit 15 fixes an image to a surface of a sheet by heating. A sheet reversing unit 19 reverses top and back surfaces of the sheet to which an image is formed on a first surface in the fixing unit 15. A water content sensor 20 is disposed between a registration roller 18 and a forming position N. The water content sensor 20 measures a first water content of the sheet before an image is formed on the first surface and measures a second water content of the sheet after the first image is fixed and before an image is formed on a second surface. A control unit 11 calculates a change amount in the size of the sheet based on the difference between the second water content and the first water content measured by the water content sensor 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
