RETARDATION FILM, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, POLARIZER, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film having a uniform and high retardation value without increasing the haze by drawing with high magnification, and also improve productivity by increasing removability of a coat of dope.

SOLUTION: The retardation film contains 1) a cellulose ester and 2) a first sugar ester compound obtained by reacting hydroxyl groups of sugar with only part of two or more carboxyl groups of a polyvalent carboxylic acid having the two or more carboxyl groups and an alkylene group with 5-16 carbon atoms.
