摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for forming an optical film for sufficiently suppressing the entrainment of bubbles caused by an accompanying wind to a casting film and avoiding the deterioration of the optical quality of a formed optical film even if high-speed formation is performed, in a solution casting method. <P>SOLUTION: The method of forming optical film includes a casting process of casting a resin solution 51 to a moving support 12 from a die 11 to form the casting film 52 where during the casting process, a gas having density lower than the density of air is supplied to a space over the support 12 of the upstream side in the movement direction of the support 12 from a casting ribbon R until the resin solution 51 ejected from the die 11 is landed to the support 12.
