<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of achieving a reduction in size without causing deterioration in image quality. <P>SOLUTION: An optical scanner has four light sources, a pre-deflector optical system, a polygon mirror, two scanning optical systems and the like, which are accommodated in an optical housing 2300. Two luminous fluxes, whose polarization directions are perpendicular to each other, are mixed and emitted to each scanning optical system. The two luminous fluxes are separated by a polarization separation element and directed to each corresponding photoreceptor drum. A first sheet metal member 11 and a second sheet metal member 12 are attached to a bottom plate of the optical housing 2300, thereby enabling suppressing the resonance of the optical housing 2300 by the oscillation from the outside.
