PLANT CONTROL APPARATUS AND THICK PLATE ROLLING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant control apparatus which securely prevents shutdown due to overheating protection of a motor without deteriorating the productivity of a target plant.

SOLUTION: A plant control apparatus 1 has a drive device 3 driving a motor 2 and a controller 4 creating a speed reference of the motor 2 and transmitting the created speed reference to the drive device 3. The plant control apparatus 1 includes RMS value calculation means 6 and acceleration/deceleration rate adjustment means 9. The RMS value calculation means 6 calculates an effective value of a torque current of the motor 2. When the effective value calculated by the RMS value calculation means 6 exceeds a predetermined specified value, the acceleration/deceleration rate adjustment means 9 adjusts an acceleration/deceleration rate of the speed reference and prevents shutdown due to overheating protection of the motor 2.
