PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of a battery pack.

SOLUTION: When an excess current flows in a current path of a battery pack 1, a contact point of a thermostat with PCT 62 opens, and a detection circuit 66 detects that the contact point of the thermostat with PCT 62 has opened. The detection circuit 66 supplies a low level open signal indicating that the contact point of the thermostat with PCT 62 has opened to a discharge control FET 64. The discharge control FET 64 is turned off by the low level open signal supplied from the detection circuit 66. The thermostat with PCT 62 interrupts the excess current and turns off the discharge control FET 64. Thus, the safety of the battery pack is improved.
