<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connector which can be produced without relying on a substrate and generating much misregistration, and in which an optical fiber can be easily positioned relative to an optical waveguide core and displacement of the optical fiber is not likely to occur, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical fiber connector including a plurality of sets of optical fiber guides and optical waveguides, each of the waveguides being composed of a core pattern for optical signal transmission formed on a first lower clad layer and an upper clad layer formed on the core pattern for optical signal transmission, disposed in parallel on a substrate: each of the optical fiber guides has a parallel optical fiber guide and a crossed optical fiber guide extending in a direction to cross the core pattern for optical signal transmission; the upper clad layer is not formed on an optical fiber guide groove; and the plurality of optical fiber guides and the optical waveguides are disposed in parallel so that an optical fiber fixed to the optical fiber guide groove and the core pattern for optical signal transmission are arranged to transmit and receive optical signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
