<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground improvement method for constructing a pile after inserting a plurality of rod-like bodies into a ground around the pile before constructed, while equally and reliably obtaining the effect of suppressing ground upheaval due to the insertion of the plurality of rod-like bodies, and to provide a rod-like body assembly usable for the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the ground improvement method for constructing the pile P in a ground G after inserting the plurality of rod-like bodies into the ground around the pile before constructed, the plurality of rod-like bodies R are connected to one another via connection members 2 so that the rod-like bodies R can equally resist soil pressure toward an outside direction d1 to surely prevent the falling and opening of the rod-like bodies.
