摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine that sufficiently increases operation effective time of a player for inputting an answer to a quiz to allow the player to input a correct answer or reduces the time to make the player nervous, according to a game state, to naturally give the player the impression that a quiz result is closely related to a game state, thereby urging the player to positively participate in the quiz to increase the interest of the player in a game, and to provide a game machine control method, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: In the game machine 1 having a touch panel 17, a rendering control board 102 receives a control command from a main control board 101 and controls an image control board 105 to cause a liquid crystal display device 13 to display variation of symbols, and sets the quiz during variable display of the symbols. The length of the effective time for the player to input the answer to the quiz through the touch panel screen is changed according to the game state.
