<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power management apparatus which can avoid frequent occurrence of power shutdown due to excess power use. <P>SOLUTION: A determination is made whether or not a current detection value from a current sensor 22 falls within a reference value, and if the current detection value deviates from the reference value, a backup power switch 27 is turned on. The reference value is determined by a lower limit current value indicating occurrence of short break due to electric outage, and the contract amperage of an ampere breaker 11. When power consumption of a load 13 exceeds the contract amperage temporarily, the backup power switch 27 is turned on, and power supply from a commercial power supply 10 is compensated by power supply from an accumulator battery 20. Interruption of power supply is avoided by activation of the ampere breaker 11 even when the power consumption of the load 13 exceeds the contract amperage temporarily. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
