<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malicious program from illegally acquiring information from a PIN input unit, by invalidating a function of the unit, when the malicious program is installed in a handy terminal with a settlement function. <P>SOLUTION: A first one-way function value is calculated based on data included in a storage medium which stores a bootloader and an operating system, and the one-way function value is stored in an additional function unit during manufacturing. After an information processing device is started, a second one-way function value is calculated based on the data included in the storage medium, and if the first one-way function value is different from the second one-way function value, a function of the additional function unit becomes invalid. The storage medium is loaded on the information processing device and the additional function unit is added to the information processing device.
