PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture micro cellulose fiber.

SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing a micro cellulose fiber comprising the steps of: obtaining a crude cellulose fiber dispersion liquid through fibrillation of cellulose fiber by using a cellulose fiber dispersion liquid that has dynamic viscoelasticity having positive correlation in a range of an angular velocity of 0.1 to 10 (rad/s) of loss tangent (tanδ) when in the form of a dispersion liquid with a cellulose fiber concentration of 3 to 4 wt.% or using a cellulose fiber material dispersion liquid with a cellulose fiber concentration of 2 wt.% or more and 30 wt.% or less; and further fibrillating the cellulose fiber by adjusting a cellulose fiber concentration in the crude cellulose fiber dispersion liquid to be 0.01 wt.% or more and less than 2 wt.%.
