[Problem] To provide a cellulose ester film having a high transmittance and a process for producing the film and to provide both a polarizer that deteriorates little during an endurance test and a liquid-crystal display device that has a high contrast, the polarizer and the display device being equipped with the cellulose ester film. [Solution] A cellulose ester film characterized by comprising a cellulose ester which has been substituted by a C3-4 acyl group or by a C2 acyl group and a C3-4 acyl group, has a total degree of substitution with the acyl group(s) of 1.0 or higher but less than 2.0, and has a weight-average molecular weight of 150,000 or less and a sugar ester compound which has one to twelve pyranose and/or furanose structures and has an average degree of substitution of 2.8-6.0, and by having a film thickness of 10-35 µm, and a polarizer and a display device being equipped with the cellulose ester film. |
