<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a special component such as a look-ahead head or the like and cyclically store data in a magnetic tape without dividing the data. <P>SOLUTION: When a capacity of a data storage area remaining on a terminal side of a partition as an overwritable area exceeds a preset storage capacity, a logical composition of the partition is retained to continue a writing of new data. However, when the capacity of the data storage area remaining on the terminal side of the partition as the overwritable area does not exceed the preset storage capacity, wraps constituting the partition are cyclically shifted from a partition start end side toward the terminal side in a wrap unit, the logical composition of the partition is updated, and the writing of the new data is continued. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
