<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize displacement between images of respective imaging units that is caused by temperature differences between two or more writing units. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus that comprises a plurality of optical writing units 17KC, 17YM in juxtaposition includes: a blower 19 for blowing cooling air to all of the optical writing units 17KC, 17YM; temperature sensors 17T1, 17T2 for detecting temperature of each of the plurality of optical writing units 17KC, 17YM; shield plates 21KC, 21YM for supplying the cooling air selectively to each of the plurality of optical writing units 17KC, 17YM; and a CPU 110 for controlling opening/closing of the shield plates 21KC, 21YM so that a temperature difference between temperatures inside each of the optical writing units 17KC, 17YM keeps a predetermined temperature difference after displacement has been corrected based on detection results of the temperature sensors 17T1, 17T2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
