<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase reliability of contact portions of a detection rotor to a rotating shaft, thereby increasing durability and reliability of a rotation detector. <P>SOLUTION: A motor 2 includes a rotating shaft 14, and a motor housing 11 that houses the rotating shaft 14 therein. A detection stator 6 has planar coils arranged on a surface thereof, and is fixed to the motor housing 11. A detection rotor 7 includes: a tabular resin substrate 21; planar coils arranged on a surface of the resin substrate 21; a metal member 23 that is provided integrally in the center of the resin substrate 21 and is formed into an annular shape so as to fix the detection rotor 7 to the rotating shaft 14; and a plurality of projections 23b that project in a radial direction on an outer circumference side of the metal member 23. The detection rotor 7 is arranged on the rotating shaft 14 in such a manner that a front side thereof faces a front side of the detection stator 6.
